I was always interested in make-up as a kid, playing dress up, and volunteering at churches and schools doing makeup plays and dance recitals. I had heard so many great things about Blanche Macdonald. I was first introduced when I was 14, so I went to check it out. I went for a second orientation when I was 17 and completely knew that Blanche Macdonald was for me.

The Program
I was beyond excited when I started Blanche. The school defiantly lives up to its phenomenal name, and it defiantly exceeded my expectations. The cost of Blanche Macdonald can be hard to cough up, but if you really want to make this your career, every penny is completely worth it. Just budget carefully, and keep your foot in the door at all times!
The school gives thorough explanations and demonstrations of each module, such as Special Effects, TV and Film, Fashion, Bridal, Hair, and Prosthetics. The teachers really outdo themselves in bringing in other great artists, such as Howard Berger, Jon Hennessey, and Sharon Gault in to speak.
All of the teachers and previous students are nothing but helpful in sharing their tips, ideas, and inspiration. Every single person at Blanche Macdonald I found truly passionate and supportive. Teachers will also help you on the career path you wish to follow after you graduate. If you stay in touch with the teachers at Blanche Macdonald, you will almost always have a job. Fellow students are also amazing, and great to stay in touch with. You will meet so many creative minds, and wonderful people here!
