I really appreciate this honest review because I can definitely relate. I graduated from BMC a few years back and really did not know what to expect. However, I left the program with the valuable skills and knowledge required to succeed as a professional makeup artist in the industry. Yes it was quite expensive, but that’s what all investments are. If you are willing to work hard and use the resources provided by BMC than there is no reason why you cannot achieve success.

I graduated a few years back so a lot has changed since. From what I’ve learned and experienced it was fantastic! Yes I agree the kit is on the expensive side and when we had to go out shopping for supplies I was a little bit upset by that because i felt why wasn’t this included, but you don’t have to buy EVERYTHING on the list, you can only buy what you need and you can always share with your classmates. Be smart with your money. They do give you the basics, and it’s up to you on how you build your own kit.

Yes I also agree the course is expensive, but school is expensive in general, you have to make the most out of it and work really hard. A lot of people come to this school thinking it’s so easy and when it’s not they turned un-motivated and start complaining about everything.

Everyone is different and everyone has different experiences. If you really love makeup/fashion/hair etc. and you are interested in this school then come and talk to an admissions director and see for yourself.

Please remember just because you paid a lot of money does not mean everything is handed to you. In this industry nothing is handed to you. If you work hard you will be successful no doubt.

I am an International student from Taiwan and have graduated from the Global Makeup Artistry Program at Blanche Macdonald.

I really like Blanche Macdonald and my teachers at school. They’ve been so helpful in the run-up to competing at the International Makeup Artists Trade Show in Vancouver (IMATS). I designed the makeup and my instructors suggested ways for me to do it. They encouraged me to keep going and have fun. In Taiwan we don’t get this kind of show. It’s an amazing opportunity for us to show our work to top industry professionals.

I agree that Blanche Macdonald has great resources for you to take advantage of. I have made so many friends from many other countries like Japan, China and of course, from Canada.

The school has a strict curriculum but they are really try to prepare you for the real world environment.

Definitely agree that use the resources and take advantage of their Facebook resources pages like looking for models for photo shoot.

I am so happy to that I made the decision in getting my education at Blanche Macdonald Centre. It was a memorable experience!
