All people want is an education that will generate money. “Will I get a high paying job? How much cash will roll my way?” If that’s the only reason you want to go to OCAD, then gtfo. Go somewhere that is more commercial based. I learned a lot from my profs and they’ve been inspiring the entire time. I flipping hated the administrative stuff and the politics surrounding the new president but I was more focused on learning and expanding my conceptual knowledge. I don’t regret where OCADU has taken me because I’ve grown in ways I didn’t think I could.

Every school has it’s fantastic and terrible points. The problem with most people is that they expect the shoe to fit the first time. Life won’t hand you the perfect education or career. Plenty of people don’t figure out what it is they want without going through a few runs first. It took my sister 2 different degrees to finally find her passion.

This may sound hippy but life is about experiences and you won’t know what it is you want if you don’t just do it.

Look at other OCAD reviews on this site. And always read the comments. There are people who have been actually in OCAD.

Hi, I have been considering in attending OCAD this fall year, but…
I’ve heard some good rumors and bad rumors about OCAD..
What are the job opportunities?
How is the lifestyle?

Thanks! This made me want to stay at OCAD. It’s so hard though and I’m afraid that it’s gonna be even harder in the workforce so maybe it’s not the right thing for me. I’ve always wanted to do it though. I dunno maybe I should just do art and be poor. but thanks OCAD does have some shitty teachers and even my teachers at the School of Design at George Brown College were better. oh well. I prefer the OCAD campus, it’s much safer in the night. I dunno I think I might just do website design or desktop publishing or something. :\
